Colposcopy
- Colposcopy is a standard procedure as a follow up of an abnormal pap smear result.
- With colposcope, doctor can examine with closer (zoomed) look to check any abnormalities in cervical cells, blood vessels after VIA procedure. This colposcopy procedure is not limited only for cervix, but it can include vulva and vagina.
- The procedure is similar with pap smear, medical professional can have a closer look with colposcope so that better treatment and advice or further diagnosis procedure can be determined.
Biopsy
Biopsy (a process involving the removal of cells or tissues for examination) is sometimes needed for further diagnosis, or sometimes abnormal cervix is treated during biopsy procedure.
