Pap Smear
- Pap smear can be done in routine examination. Pap smear is one widely-known screening method.
- Your doctor will use a speculum to examine cervical area. Then with a specific tool (soft brush), the doctor will take cells around cervical area. Those cells then are smeared into an object glass to be then sent to the laboratory for microscopic examination. Pap smear is usually not painful, but it can generally make female patients uncomfortable.
